Imitation is Flattering

Posted by Tom Sepper, December 6th, 2007

You know the old saying:

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.

We couldn’t agree more!

Site5 Marketing Guru and Sales Team member Taylor Hawes was recently browsing website templates to get some ideas for the next major revision of our homepage when he came across an auction for a hosting template. It wasn’t the template that caught his eye. See if you can catch it:

Do you see it?

The plan specs, the reseller specs and text, the affiliate text.. straight from our homepage!

We don’t mind; it’s great to see the influence we have out there. ;)

nice design! its been pulled offline… we used a third party freelancer to come up with a hosting design which we never ended up using, we didn’t realize they had used such a similar design. Anyhow, the design has been pulled offline and deleted from all systems.

Jason - the design wasn’t an issue! The text and plan specs were just almost verbatim from our homepage.

You really didn’t need to remove the design. We were simply having some fun. :)

I’ve seen many web sites inspired by Site 5’s style. I won’t mention any, may conflict with what you guys offer.
