Synco… Live and In Full Effect

Posted by Kevin Hazard, February 13th, 2006

Adam and the Site5 Engineering Team have proven that sleep is not a necessary component of daily life… in fact, sleep can be completely replaced by large amounts of Red Bull and Starbuck’s. This is not a great life, but it is sustainable in the short run… you know, when you are completely rennovating a company’s billing and customer management system.

A few weeks ago, we laid our old friend, BillAdmin, to rest… She was a trusty system, but she couldn’t keep up with the demands of a constantly-growing web host like Site5. The replacement system, Synco, has picked up the slack and we haven’t looked back since.

Synco is based on a Rails foundation, and initially, it was simply designed as a drop-in replacement for BillAdmin, but it has proven to be so much more as the Engineering Team quickly ironed out the major bugs and added functionality that we had only dreamt of before.

I am not going to bore you with the details, but I will drop a few screenshots of the new system below… Enjoy!
